PERSONAL BIO

Kaili Lee (李凱莉) currently serves as the Director of GOH-Migrants for Garden of Hope Foundation, one of Taiwan's largest NGOs. She engages in the trafficking victim assistance programs, policy advocacy, law amendment, and inter-agency coordination at the local and national levels.

Kaili develops and delivers training and technical assistance to law enforcement, government entities, and NGOs on the nationwide migrant and anti-trafficking issues. She also makes an effort to lead the service innovation, improving the local shelter and expanding GOH-Migrants community service center to all-round services within 3 years, upholding the rights and dignity of migrants, and facilitating the international partnership for the migrants as well.

Kaili received a Master's degree in Sociology, and with theological background, which strengthened her fight for human rights and advocacy for peace.

Brief Introduction of the Department

【GOH-Migrants】
GOH-Migrants is a department in Garden of Hope Foundation that focuses on giving various services to migrants in Taiwan. GOH-Migrants was established in 2011, the first service provided was a shelter for women migrant workers in New Taipei City.
After observing and gaining some insights into migrants issues in Taiwan, in 2018 GOH-Migrants started a new community service program with the goal to empower migrant workers through attending classes and seminars to cultivate their hard skills before going back to their home country.
In 2020, GOH-Migrants expanded service to international students in Taiwan by inviting them to become a part of the community. The main goal is to encourage international students to actively engage in local society, connect them to NGOs and social issue stakeholders, cultural exchange, and also empowerment programs.

Internship Job Description

This internship programs looks forward to meeting international students interested in issues related to migrants who come to Taiwan for work, study or other purposes and live alongside the local community. The program expects to raise students' awareness of migrants issues, enhance their soft skills, and further develop areas of topic analysis, innovation and project planning. The internship includesg gathering Chinese and English data and papers regarding migrants in Taiwan. Under the guidance of the mentor, students are required to conduct basic analysis based on the data, assist in planning processes, and execute migrants related events as well as participate in strengthening external connection and community.

- Interested in the rights of foreigners in Taiwan
- Strong research skills (finding information, data collection, analysis, problem-solving)
